Big Project

Recently we found a little more space in our small house by finishing a storage room. Anna will move in shortly but first we needed to create some sort of storage system. Thanks to free plans on-line (Ana-White, Knock-Off Wood), we planned a closet with cubbies and two drawers on the bottom. I also finally got to use a pair of shutters that I bought at Habitat ReStore for $5 each.

Finally, after many hours of cutting, construction, and painting we finished. Everything may not be squared but is fully functioning and Anna is excited to move in. My Dad saved me at the end by coming and finishing some details. Baby #4 will be here soon and we are closer to being ready.

Random Pictures

Our only significant snowfall so far this year. It is nice to have a kid-size hill in the backyard.

Our kids and their future as graffiti artists! They were pretty excited to "paint" Anna's new room. The drywall and mudding was probably our least favorite part of diy-ing this room.

It was mismatch clothes day at school. Fun to not match on purpose.

After this post, I should be caught up before baby boy Shaw #2 arrives (don't miss the other two new posts). We are also almost done with Anna's new room so I will post pics of that later too.

Jacob turns 3

Jacob's birthday finally arrived. He only talked about it every day for a month or so. I guess he considered it a second Christmas because he was pointing at everything and saying "I want this for my birthday". We figured it was never to early to try out shaving cream but we will wait on the razor how-to until he grows a few feet.

He is a big Toy Story fan and loves anything with wheels. His birthday was complete with the movie, pjs and cars from Grandma and Grandpa Shaw, his first remote control car from Hanna and Happa Downs and a new bike from us.
Happy Birthday Jacob! We love you.

Christmas 2011

I know it is March 4th but I am finally catching up with pictures from Christmas. We spent Christmas in Jefferson City with the Downs. Luckily, Santa knew where to find us and the presents where safely tucked under the tree on Christmas morning. The holiday was complete with new pj's and a Christmas Eve candle devotional.
